About me
I am Dato’ Dr. Tikfu Gee, and I have been a general surgeon since 2005. I am known as one of the pioneers of bariatric surgery. I have been in this field in Malaysia since 2009. I am a consultant general, bariatric and metabolic surgeon at Sunway Medical Centre (SMC), Sunway Medical Centre Velocity (SMCV) and iHEAL Medical Centre. In addition to that, he is also a resident surgeon at Prince Court Medical Centre (PCMC) and a visiting surgeon at Universiti Malaya Medical Centre (PPUM).
I earned my medical degree at the Karnataka State University, India. After completing my master’s in Surgery at University Malaya Malaysia, he went on to specialise in Minimally Invasive Surgery and Bariatric Surgery in Hospital Diaconnesses Croix Saint-Simon, Paris, France. In 2019, I was trained in robotic gastrointestinal surgery at Yonsei Cancer Center, Korea.
I founded the Malaysian Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Society (MyMBS) and the Society of Endoscopic Laparoscopic Surgery Malaysia (SELSMA). I have also contributed to numerous publication and medical articles in the field of surgery. He currently sits on the council of the College of Surgeons Malaysia and the Asia Pacific Bariatric Metabolic Surgery Society.
